If you’ve read my blog, How to Choose an Adoption Agency, you know the importance of making sure your agency gets your “why.” So, here’s a letter from Lifeline Children’s Services‘ Executive Director, Herbie Newell. This should give you a window into their “why.”
“Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
Children truly are a precious gift from the Lord. No matter who you are or how you got this we are thankful that you have shown interest in our agency. Since 1981 we have placed thousands of children into loving Christian homes through our adoption programs.
Our domestic program was formed in 1981 to meet the needs of women in the wake of an unplanned pregnancy with a stable, two parent, Christian home. Our unique partnerships with crisis-pregnancy centers and health care providers, grants us many avenues for which to counsel, invest and minister to birthmothers. While we are a birthmother centered agency, we are firmly committed to our prospective adoptive parents and ministering to them during this exciting, fun, exhilarating, yet uncertain time. We realize many of the emotions and factors that have brought you to this point, rather to start or complete your family through adoption.
Lifeline is truly unique and distinctively different from other agencies and attorneys. Our program stands in sharp Contrast to the way that many do adoptions today. For 30 years, our staff of trained professionals has been committed to helping our clients know God’s will for their life.
The mission of Lifeline Children’s Services is simple. Lifeline exists to provide a hope and a future for children around the world by bringing families together through God’s call to minister to orphans.
Over the last 30 years, Lifeline’s vision has remained to give children a hope and a future through Christian adoption, support, and care. Children need a home to provide shelter, love, and nurture; they need a hope found in the opportunity or a family; because they have a future that can be used by God for unimaginable purposes. We pray for God to truly be glorified through adoption, birthmother ministry, orphan care, and foster care for our hope is in Him for he is the one who hears the audible cries of the 143 million orphans worldwide.
Whoever you are or whatever your circumstances, we stand ready to help.”
