AGAPE receives Hague Accreditation

June 28, 2013 //  by Sam McLure

Child BarsExciting News! Montgomery’s first accredited adoption agency to do international adoptions is finally here. In May, Agape Ministries of Central Alabama has received Hague accreditation by the Council on Accreditations to do international adoptions along with home visits. Beforehand, there were only a few adoption agencies to perform international adoptions located in the Birmingham area and Fairhope Alabama. After a long time of waiting, Agape can now assist Alabama residents in finding an intentional child a permanent home here in the U.S. Agape can also perform home studies for prospective families wanting to adopt internationally. A home study is a comprehensive evaluation of your family and home environment and is required in order to adopt. An Agape representative will provide you with the information needed to adopt domestically and internationally.

Agape Ministries started in 1978 by Christians who wanted to obey God’s calling in helping the orphans. Since then, Agape’s desire to “defend the fatherless” has countless lives by bringing families together. Agape focused on mainly domestic adoptions, but has now expanded to international adoptions and home visits. Currently, Agape is researching various possibilities for coordinating adoptions through placing countries. By 2015, Agape plans to place children from at least one foreign country into permanent homes. The Adoption Law Firm welcomes Agape Ministries in their new addition. If you are contemplating international adoption, please help celebrate this exciting opportunity and contact Agape Ministries for a home study.
