Brian and Jenn Johnson are worship leaders who are hoping to inspire other to adopt, after their miraculous journey. The co-founders of Bethel Music in Redding, California adopted their son Ryder Moses, who’s name translates to “adopted deliverer”.
Jenn Johnson talked about how Ryder was “a present of God”. Jenn called her friend, and song writer, Rita Springer, who told Jenn, “The Lord told me years ago that you would [adopt], but I wasn’t to tell you until He told you”. After their conversation Jenn started the adoption paperwork and within one month, they had finished the entire process.
Jenn and Brian matched with a birth mother on the third try. Ever since meeting the birth mother they have stayed in close connections with her attending the delivery and the birth mother showed up to the finalization. The Judge, of 45 years, said he has never seen a birth mother attend the finalization of an adoption.
While the adoption process was still in place, Jenn was driving down a long road when she started recording a song on her phone. This recording was the prompt for the song Goodness of God. Brian and Jenn Johnson are hoping that their experience, and their story will encourage people to adopt.
