“Adopted is a past-tense verb.” This is the mantra of adoption author, Russell Moore, and has now become the reality for 30 Ukrainian children over the past year.
Bridges of Faith hosts several camps throughout the year at their facilities in Verbena, Alabama. Groups of around 10 children at a time from Ukrainian orphanages come to the Bridges of Faith facilities for a holistic camp experience.
During their camping experience, Bridges of Faith labors to help these children connect with local families. Whether through house parents, beach trips, horse back riding, or English lessons, these kids are exposed to dozens of Christian families. The children are exposed to the Gospel; and local believers are exposed to the need to “visit the orphan … in their affliction.” (James 1:27)
80% of the children from the last group are now using “adopted” as a past tense verb.
Thank you to Tom Benz and the Bridges of Faith staff and volunteers for obeying James 1:27.
