When is the Right Time for Adoption: Eclectic Empty Nesters Adopt Two Children from Ukraine

When is it a good time to “visit the orphan … in their affliction”?  When is it a good time to take up your cross and follow Christ?

For the Osgoods of Eclectic, Alabama, the right time to adopt two children from Ukraine came after their 21 year old son had already left the house.

What are the Osgood’s giving up?  What’s the opportunity cost?

Certainly, there will be less golf … less bridge … less …  But, don’t worry, Osgoods, this life will soon be over and “we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.” (2 Cor 5:10)
